1. Definitions

“Company” refers to King Marquees Limited.

“Hirer” refers to any individual, business, or entity hiring equipment from the Company.

“Equipment” includes all marquees, furniture, accessories, and any additional items listed in the hire agreement.

“Hire Charges” mean the total cost payable, including but not limited to delivery, setup, maintenance, dismantling, and collection.

“Hire Period” covers the agreed duration for which the equipment is rented.

“Contract” refers to the binding agreement between the Company and the Hirer, inclusive of these terms and any additional written agreements.

2. Payment Terms

For bookings exceeding £500, a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required upon booking confirmation, with the remaining balance payable upon delivery and setup.

Late payments will incur a charge of 5% per week on the outstanding balance, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All charges are subject to VAT at the applicable rate.

3. Damage & Loss Policy

A Damage Waiver Fee of 5% of the total hire cost is applicable unless the Hirer provides proof of insurance coverage satisfactory to the Company.

This waiver protects against fire, theft, vandalism, storm damage, and certain other risks. However, the Hirer is responsible for the first £500 of any loss or damage to marquees.

The Hirer remains fully liable for damage or loss of movable items, such as furniture and lighting.

The Company accepts no liability for loss or damage to the Hirer’s personal property stored within the marquee or any equipment supplied by third parties.

4. Quotations & Bookings

All quotations are valid for a limited period and are subject to availability at the time of booking.

A booking is confirmed only when the Company provides written confirmation and receives the necessary deposit.

Verbal agreements or instructions are not binding unless confirmed in writing by the Company.

5. Site Conditions & Responsibilities

The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that the site is suitable for marquee erection, including level ground free from obstructions.

The Company is not liable for any damage to underground utilities unless the Hirer has provided accurate, documented locations of such services in advance.

The Hirer or an authorized representative must be present during installation to confirm marquee placement. If no representative is available, the Company will position the marquee at its discretion.

If a power supply is required, the Hirer must ensure that a suitable power source is available within 15 meters of the site.

6. Amendments to Hire Charges

The Company reserves the right to adjust hire rates due to changes in costs related to materials, labor, or transportation.

Additional charges may apply for non-standard site conditions or extra labor required due to unforeseen circumstances.

7. Liability & Indemnity

The Company is not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss arising from misuse of the equipment.

The Hirer assumes full responsibility for the safety of the marquee and hired equipment during the Hire Period.

The Company shall not be liable for delays or cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, force majeure, or other circumstances beyond its control.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations must be made in writing.

Deposits are non-refundable.

If the Hirer cancels within 7 days of the event, 50% of the total hire charge remains payable. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours, the full hire charge is due.

9. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
